Today’s disparate socioeconomic conditions underscore the need for equity in testing. School psychologists must be able to assess cognitive ability in a way that allows all students equal opportunity to demonstrate how well they can think to solve problems. Unfortunately, traditional intelligence tests are influenced by what a student knows. This course examines how to evaluate basic psychological processes fairly and how school psychologists may utilize that data for eligibility determination and intervention planning.
