Mary Smith
Mary’s educational background includes a Master of Arts degree and Education Specialist Degree in School Psychology from the University of South Florida. She continues post graduate work and is working towards completion of her Ph.D. Mary’s most recent focus is social emotional learning including training and implementing restorative practices in schools, increasing suicide prevention and crisis intervention training. She is a certified QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) instructor and is committed to sharing this knowledge with students, families, and schools during the current pandemic environment.
Mary has worked for over twenty years in the field of education serving as an educator, principal, and school psychologist. In 2018, she worked to open BCS, a privately funded school in Brandon, Florida, that provided access to private education for children with special needs. While homeschooling her two children, she co-founded Connection Cooperative, a homeschool educational cooperative and support group that has been supporting homeschool families since 2008, in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida. She has worked as a school psychologist serving children with disabilities in public schools in Florida, New Mexico, and Washington and is psyched to join the Psyched Services Team! Outside of work, Mary enjoys spending time traveling, holding hands, and riding motorcycles with the love of her life, Mike, and their 2-year-old Maltese, Mokie.
